How Bail Works
Two Ways to Post Bail
When a judge sets bail, there are usually two ways to get someone released. Here's the difference.
10% Cash Bond
If the judge allows it, you deposit 10% of the full bail amount with the county. As long as the person goes to every court date, 90% of that deposit comes back at the end of the case, minus any fines and court costs. Miss a court date and the money is forfeited.
Surety Bond
Ace Bail Bonds posts the bond and guarantees to the court that the person will appear. You pay us a fee instead of the bail amount, and we can set up a payment plan. The sheriff isn't part of the agreement between you and us.
Capital offenses and some cash-only bonds can't be posted with a surety bond. Call us and we'll tell you what applies to your case.
